Pepper's 240z build
Re: Pepper's 240z build
Thinking about my 50 year old wiring harness and wondering if I should consider replacing it. Thoughts?

Re: Pepper's 240z build
I still have the original harness in my 240 and everything still is working. That doesn't mean it will in 5-10 years however. Now would definitely be the time to do it while everything is still accessible. If I was to go through my car again it would definitely be on my list. I put a brand new harness in my Roadster when I restored it, and glad I did.

Re: Pepper's 240z build
You mean engine bay? I'm guessing that cuz everything else is pretty much buttoned up. Definitely build a new one, you have the connectors to do it for the most part - and it's one of the easier harnesses to build. Plus you can add headlight relays straight into it rather than them being an afterthought.

Re: Pepper's 240z build
So, I built my engine harness and installed. I'm still working on the dash area, I purchased a fuse box from engineered 3d and transferred the fuse holders. I think it came out pretty good. I also purchased a fuse box with upgrade blade fuses from MSA, not sure which one I'm going to use. A new heater control panel from MSA was also installed.
I need to finish up the motor and get it ready to install, then work on the headliner and pillars before installing the windshield.
Hard to believe it's been over a year since my last post...

Sounds like you are making good progress Patrick. Rewire and new fuse panel is a huge leap forward. Looks good.
