New Years Safety tip

Post by insitu_az »

Was out in the garage puttering around, and decided to do a bit of welding. I had on gloves, helmet, and long sleeves, but decided that the old running shoes were ok (I was using the tig, no sparks you know).

Any ways, my foot starts getting a tingle, and I look down to find my shoe on fire. It had burned all the way through, but fortunately I had on cotton socks that don't melt.

Hope you all have a SAFE and happy New Year!

Ouch! Glad it wasn't more serious. Thanks for the tip! Leather, huh...

Been putting up with a lot of "Pardon me but I believe your foot is on fire" jokes, but otherwise doing good. I was really amazed how flammable those foam bottomed shoes are though.
