I really suck at posting pics. I’ll have to try to figure out how when I get some time. My wife posted a video of me firing up the motor for her on Facebook the other day.
I am not to worried about the hood at this point. Definitely won’t fit under stock hood. May just do a cut out and let the blower stick out.

A guy did a VG33er swap on the Realm in 2012. His photos unfortunately are on photo bucket (which sucks). He had the same solution for the hood, i.e. cut a hole to clear it. As with most build on the realm, the ending leaves a bit to be desired. Anyways it is here:

After 2 years, this morning I finally determined how the horn button components go together on a 67 1/2 Roadster. No one on the 311 site knew and the shop manual didn't show 2 critical components. I determined I was missing the part that gives the horn button some spring. It's actually a rubber ring that I had to order from a guy in Canada who has reproduced them. Ridiculously expensive for what it is but to me it was worth it to cross one more thing off the list. Now on to the fuel and temperature gauges and turn signals.

A rubber ring? How'd you figure out what was missing? The Canadian guy's website?

Spent the last several days solving electrical and vacuum issues and replacing all dash lights with LED bulbs

What a difference! Had to reverse polarity of a few sockets but other than that it went pretty well.

It isn't a Datsun...but I washed the R and the SHO yesterday. Might take it on a mini-cruise up Yarnell or so tomorrow.

Paul, there is a twin to your Type R for sale on BaT right now (same color). Will be interesting to see what it goes for.
