Picked up a pretty nice 1991 300ZX 2+2 manual over the weekend. The obsession continues

Ah, that's the one from the DZA E-mail? Nice car for the money. I thought about it for a second. That model is by far the best looking 2+2 Z ever.
Having already done the Z32 bit with the twin turbo, I passed. Always seemed like more of a muscle car/Japanese Camaro to me than a sports car.
The Project Z32 guys are a great resource. Good local support too with Pitstop, and the parts place up by Deer Valley airport (can't remember the name).

That looks great Carl, with the wheels and other mods! Are those 350Z stock wheels? This car has 95K miles. I'm taking it into Pitstop this Wednesday for a PPI (pre-purchase inspection), in my case a post purchase inspection
. Couldn't pass on it after seeing the condition and negotiating the deal. Should be a very nice ride if everything checks out. Also sold the 620 today, Sold the Yaris on Friday, bought the Z on Saturday and sold the 620 Monday. CRAZY!!!

Wow, you could have your own wheeler dealer show!
Yes, those are 350 anniversary wheels. Direct bolt on to the Z32 and I loved the look. Between the coil-overs and going +2 on the wheels I ruined the ride, but it looked cool!
Interesting trivia, they campaigned a 2+2 twin turbo in SCCA racing because the position of the fuel tank gave a more consistent weight distribution as the fuel burned. Although they never imported a TT 2+2 to the states, they were sold in Australia so they were able to meet the production rule. The TT was eventually banned because it was too dominant, reportedly pushing 800 HP.

Interesting Carl, had not heard that. I did pick up an interesting factoid off Classic Z on the Z 32 turbo cars. The front and rear wheels were different widths and each of the wheels are unique as they are directional (left and right sides). So, each wheel has a very specific position, four different wheels and four different part numbers. On the 2+2 models these are only two different wheels, rights and lefts, which are interchangeable front to rear. Got a good report on the car from Vitaly at Pitstop today. He was amazed at how clean the interior was. Planning to bring it to the Pavilions on Saturday, weather permitting.

Yes, the IIRC the wheels act like fan blades to suck air out from under the car at speed. It is pretty common for the "wheel police" to point out when someone post a photo of their new Z32 with the wheels on wrong.
