Got a lot accomplished over the last few days.
- Aimed my new headlights
- Replaced the tension rod bushings and re-finished the rods themselves
- Replaced the center steering link
- Adjusted the steering box lash
- Greased the squeaking speedo cable
- Re-built the blinker switch
- Modified the stabilizer bar end links for more clearance between stabilizer bar and tension rods
- Re-finished the stabilizer bar
- Replaced my rusty header with a stock 510 exhaust manifold, and had down pipe modified to mate with new exhaust system
- Replaced steering damper

Lubricated and adjusted the emergency brake cables and ordered up some FatMat type insulation for the floor, doors and back of cab. Trying to quiet the thing down and reduce all the sheet metal vibration. Truck is running really well now, so I'm turning to some other items needing attention. Also took the 620 in for an alignment on Saturday. They did adjust the toe but said I really need to replace the upper control arm bushings and the idler arm (it's worn) before adjusting camber, so it holds. Anyone have experience with the control arms??? I did find an excellent alignment shop, I'd highly recommend, called Network Alignment, on Cave Creek Rd. near Cactus.

Bet you're a happy camper again to be making progress. Only in my dreams could I make that kind of progress.

Did I miss it or did you resolve the brake master cylinder issue?

 Actually, I'm probably spending way too much time in the garage Robin. I did resolve the brake master cylinder issue. Since the front brakes had been upgraded to discs at some point by the previous owner, I needed a 78/79 master, which is different than the 77 master (for 4-wheel drum brakes) I'd previously ordered.

There's such a thing as too much time in the garage?

Little by little I'm sorting things out on the 620 that are helping make it run better. Discovered that my hard starting and lack luster performance was due in part to a plug gap that was too narrow. Now gapped at .032 and it has made a noticeable difference. Also advanced timing at idle to 12 degrees BTDC and tweaked idle mixture slightly. All the plugs were toasty brown when I pulled them, with about 300 miles on the engine since I've been driving it. Also got 3 sheets of FatMat installed and the truck is already a bit quieter.
