So what do y’all think of the new “proto” Z? Personally I like the design cues from the original 240Z. But I’m not crazy about the front- maybe it would look better with a modern version of a 240Z bumper to break up the massive rectangular grille. It’s great that they plan to have a manual option. No mention of sticker price but if it’s over $45k base it may be a tough sell.

I agree with the front number grill areas is also an area I don’t like that much. It just doesn’t seem to go with that car can’t put my finger on why though

Meh, looks like a Tiburon. Not that that's a bad thing, but it does not spark much interest in me.

Also, I dumped my 300ZX twin turbo because it was too heavy, too complicated, and a pain to work on. Hope this is different.

I like it, a lot, but agree with the comments (here and elsewhere) about the grill area. A simple, thin 240Z-like bumper would do the trick. Jalopnik mocked something up that shows that it wouldn't take much ...

The reveal event was extremely well done. It was setup like a drive-in movie. We lined up in a huge level field in front of two big screens flanking a stage. Bags of snacks with the Nissan logo were passed out to each car. There was good sound system blasting music and you could also tune your car radio to listen in as well. Off to one side in a beautifully landscaped/hardscaped area were 5 gourmet food trucks, all gratis. Beyond that area there were several cars from the Heritage collection, a large pond beyond which was a cliff on the face of which was a huge "Z" and "Nissan" logo. Above, a shrouded silhouette of the new Z. After about and hour of socializing the main event took place with simulcasts from various locations, ours hosted by Adam Corolla. All in all a fun evening.
