WARNING- New Scam Targeting Car Sellers

Actually, I'm not sure how new this scam is but I have encountered it twice in the last 2 days. Here's how it works. The scammer contacts you via email or contact information you leave in your Craig's List ad about the car you have for sale. The scammer professes to be interested in your car but says they need to see a Carfax like document first. They then direct you to a web address for another "supposed" company that produces a similar report, suggesting you use them because they are 1/2 the price of a Carfax. In order to get the report you'll need to key in your credit card information for the $20 fee. Now they have not only your $20 but also your credit card number, enabling them to steal your identity and run up your card. By the way they never produce any kind of report. Fortunately, I figured out the scam before I fell for it. Be forewarned!
