At the Barrett Jackson auction, 2 S30 Z cars sold yesterday.

1st was a blue 1978 280Z (automatic) - Hammer price was $21k, with fees = $23,100

2nd was a silver 1973 240Z, 4spd - Hammer price was $40k, with fees = $44,000

Any thoughts on the cars? I thought both were nice cars, but certainly not perfect.

There is another 240 that is scheduled to sell on Sunday.

It seems that the placement in the Auction has something to do with the expected price. Cars placed early in the day and in the week are not the headliners. So even though I think most of our group agreed the silver 240 was the nicest Z there, BJ thought the "matching numbers" car with mister K signed glove box was the hot ticket. Not sure if there is a drop off late in the weekend when everyone had blown their cash.

By the way, the blue Tiger hammered at $67,100.

Geez the Honda 600 car went for 20 grand.

Dale, you were right about the red Tiger. $148,500 plus premium.

Wowzer! 148,500?!? It was a really nice looking car. $20k for the Honda 600 amazes me too.

I see the Red 73 240Z sold for Hammer of 27K, for a total of $29,700.

Maybe the published sales price includes the buyer's premium?

I heard there were a couple Z's at Russo and Steel. Don't see the docket on their website though.
