Good eye Duffman. I've measured the shroud and the new fan and it looks like it will fit, but I'll need to find a way to snake it into place. I may have to remove and then re-attach the fan, after fitting the shroud???

installed the brake booster I repainted and the freshly cleaned brake and clutch master cylinders. Also installed the rubber flap I copied from the trashed original one, to cover the upper control arm on the driver's side. Also cleaned up the steering box. Seeing the rust on the steering column in these pictures, I'm adding masking and re-painting it to my Friday to do list.

You'll definitely have to pull the fan to install the shroud properly (or pull the rad, but that's a PITA).

I love these projects. Rolling restorations are fun.

Maybe hit up one of the paint matching places, get a rattle can and a pint can. Thinned down, if you brush it over those bare / rusty spots, it'll blend nicely, be less obvious, and look like a nice matching patina (just a thought).

Great idea, tinting some thinned down paint to make the surface rust less noticeable. Thanks! I pulled the radiator today to install the fan shroud, but unfortunately the shroud is too small to use. I'm not going to worry about installing one for the time being since the larger fan will likely move more air. This afternoon I finished detailing and re-installing the two horns, and added a Mr. Gasket glass fuel filter so I can monitor fuel coming out of the tank once I drain what's left. Getting very close to turning the key and, hopefully, hear it come back to life.

You'll want to find a shroud regardless.... Larger fan is great, but without direction, it doesn't really pull thru the rad when stopped.

Plus it's good for safety.

I'll rummage through the Ranch and see if I have one that will work (I suspect a 78-79 shroud would be correct).

Yes, agree that a 78 or 79 shroud should work. I now have a near perfect smaller shroud if you can use it.

Needed a break today, so only installed new Monroe rear shocks and repaired a bit of wiring. Waiting for my stabilizer bar end links to arrive before installing the front shocks. I also did drain the gas tank and split roughly 3-4 gallons into my two daily drivers, both had over 3/4 of a tank of fresh gas. Gas was older but not horrible, and no rust, sediment or varnish was evident.
