Auto Storage

Post by Randalla »

One spot has come available in the large space I rent to store my cars, as well as one other renter's. We have a lift in the space that can be made available with notice. The space is very secure, has a roll up door, 20 ft. ceilings and is 20 ft. wide X 35 ft. deep. If anyone is interested, the price is $125 per month, with a one year minimum commitment. Call me at 602-312-4038.

Still available, but will be casting a wider net outside the Datsun community by the end of this month so let me know if you have any interest in a spot.

That's actually a good deal. If you were in Mesa I would take you up on that. Just like home values, the rents on these storage facility lockers have went through the roof. A pretty good grift I think since most of the new home builds are in HOA communities that will not allow a boat, RV, project car, etc... on your property.

Typical 10x20 space that would accomodate an average car is north of $175/mo. now. For years I was paying $50/mo. for an outside 15x45 slot. Could fit 3 jdm project cars in that slot. Then real estate prices climbed and the owners closed the storage business and sold the land to developers.

Seems like it is getting harder and harder for the collector car enthusiasts to keep things going. I will say that lack of space has forced me to be a lot more critical when considering adding another car. The next generation just entering the hobby will have an even tougher go of it I think.

Good luck with that space Randy.

I'm hoping my landlord doesn't raise my rent after the first of the year. If he does, I'll obviously have to raise the cost of the available space. He's only raised me once in about 6 years so it wouldn't surprise me if he does. Arghhh! Like you, it definitely makes me think twice about expanding my collection to.
