Hello everyone, new member here! I've been into Datsuns and old Nissans for years and wanted a 510 for as long as I can remember. I've had a 1975 B210 for 5-6 years

and I just picked up a 4-door 1971 510!!

Sorry if the pics are too big.

It's lived an interesting life, doesn't run and needs work everywhere, but it's not horribly rusty and I got it for a decent price (nowadays). It's a stick shift as well, dogleg 5 speed. I found it up in Oregon on Ratsun and my best friend Nick and I dragged it down to Mesa last weekend. It was a 20 hour drive each way, but definitely a fun road trip. Hard to convince the wife on that one!

It has an L18 with no compression on one hole, a U67 head and currently no carb. I have a weber 38/38 sitting around, but I really want to have twin two-barrel sidedrafts, if I can find some, and a manifold, and get it built accordingly. Either way it's going to need a rebuild, and lots more air to keep up with either carb.

Anyways, glad to say hello, and very excited to finally get a 510!

Welcome to the group. Good to see another 510 show up. Looks to be pretty sound and should be a lot of fun bringing it back to life.

Just saw your post on the Realm. I follow a couple of the builds on there....

Yes, welcome to the group. Always nice to see some new cars in the group. Your B210 looks great! I have a B110 (1200 Coupe).
Like your 510 as well. Thanks for posting about them.

Thank you both!! Glad to be here. Fantastic to find a forum that all the members don't live thousands of miles away.

I love the 1200!! Such a clean design. I've only seen two in person, and they were owned by the PO of my 510.
You've got a nice collection there!

Yes, welcome to DD. Your 510 makes me long for my white 1972 510 4-door. Mine had the stock carb on it when I got it as well as an auto transmission. Both were swapped out, making the car a much more enjoyable drive. It will be fun to follow your progress and meet you in person.

If you haven't seen the story about my car and the road trip across the country after I bought it, you might enjoy the link below.

Welcome. Nice to see another 510 owner in the group.
I have 2 at the moment. 1 is my wife’s 4 door with a supercharged V6.
The other is a running project car that with get a VG33 and 5 speed whenever I can find the time.

I have not seen that story, I'll have to read it! I'm glad this one wasn't an auto, I imagine its near impossible to find a pedal box and the other necessary stuff for a swap nowadays. I probably wouldn't have bothered even contacting the guy about it! I learned with my first '89 Sentra that a stick shift can really be the difference when you only have 90 HP. Nothing like a 3 speed auto to sap a fun little car.

Wow I bet that sounds fantastic! I love the VG30. Those both sound really cool. I can't wait to get this one running. I wish I didn't have so many projects in the way!! I wasn't even gonna buy another car, but 510!! The worst part is, here comes summer to make working on anything outside miserable!

Hey DD,

I'm new to the group, but I've been around Datsuns for 40+ years and I'm on the Z forums with the same screen name. I moved from Michigan to Sun City West in March and I was able to bring one of my two S30's with me. The other is in limbo until I figure out what to do with it.

My street Z is a '78 280Z that I bought in Atlanta, GA back in March 1990. It's been a back-burner project for decades and still is for that matter. I'm pretty happy with the powertrain and suspension. The body is rust-free, but needs some work to get it ready for paint. The seats and door panels are great, but the carpet is old and the dash is cracked as usual. I don't have A/C in it yet, so once it got hot, I parked it. Once I get my house in a little better shape, I hope to focus on the Z and start driving it more regularly.

My other Z is a late 74 260Z endurance racer that I've owned for about 12 years. When I decided to make the move west, I had to make the very tough choice to leave the race car behind. I simply don't have the room for it or the spare parts needed to race it. I also have to room for a trailer, so it just wasn't going to work out. I have a Z friend in Atlanta that might take the car and race it with me based there.

I'll upload a few pics later from my personal laptop.
