We finally got ours when I was looking for something to do during the lock down. It has been a lot of fun. It is a little like welding. The more you work with it, the better the results you get. They are also a really inexpensive hobby, as printing an item like that bracket took about 6 hours, and the filament to do that print cost $1.39. The time it takes to do the print kind of limits the amount of money you can spend. lol

More front end work.

Did a little modification to my brake hats. Beefed up the spokes to 1/2" thick, and added 1/16" offset to center the disc in the calipers. Mounted the new parts and checked clearance on my snowflake wheels.

Wheel clearance was good, so I mounted the strut to see how it looked. I am pretty happy with all the clearances, but I need to make a trip to our storage unit to snag a fender to look at clearance there.

Still working on the front end. Got the hubs and struts in the blast cabinet and cleaned them up. Going to prime/paint them next week. Also ordered new bearing kits, but will need to wait for my brake hats to be finished at the machine shop before packing and assembling them.

Work on the front end continues...

Waiting for a couple parts and some sealer and paint, so decided to find all the front end sheet metal and get the seam gaps adjusted. The hood was a bit out of whack, so I had to adjust the bolt holes a bit. Found a good set of fenders in the shed, Replaced a few fasteners and it actually look s a bit like a car again. Thought I would snap a picture while I had it togeather.

Front end still....

Finished painting my front struts and hubs. Nothing fancy. Two coats of Mastercoat followed by two coats of gloss black urethane. Pretty happy with the results, and they should be good for many more years now.

Bearings packed. Ready to mount.

A few things in progress.....

- Received my Gilson center console and have it stashed until I am ready to tackle the interior. Also have a Gilson SSS dash on order, hopefully coming in the next couple of months. My wife got me a set of guages for the SSS dash for Christmas, and they are also stashed for future use.

Finally I have been working on a bracket to mount a Nissan 370Z door vent in the dash to replace the old chromed plastic vents. I just finished printing the first one in matte black plastic, and am really pleased with how they have turned out. I recessed the face of the vent and put in tracks on the side so that the original clips on the 370Z vent click in to place but can be easily removed if needed. Tabs on the side allow attachment using the original mounting hole screws.
